Amazon Woman
Amazon Woman represents my strength. She is the part of me that will stand up and fight like a warrior to protect those I love if need be. She is the tribal matriarch who exudes fierce mother love.
Her headdress is made from mostly natural found objects: a seed pod and palm bark from Belize, a yellow jacket nest, fossilized bone, feathers, shells.
When I am feeling weak or victimized, I imagine her and know she is part of me.
She says:
“I am primitive woman warrior. I will have what I want, I will take what I need. Nothing will stop me, for my nature is of the earth and I am strong. I will cut off my breast to hold my quiver of arrows. I can run through the jungle with tough feet and lead the way through brambles and muck.”
